Your personality may be connected to your chance of acquiring dementia.

The researchers, lead by Dr. Tomiko Yoneda of the University of Victoria, gathered data from almost 2,000 people .

Over the course of nearly two decades to better understand the link between personality traits and dementia risk.

The 1,954 participants, who were recruited from senior housing facilities, religious groups, and other organizations around the Greater Chicago Area, had an average age of 80. 

Before beginning the study, none of them had been diagnosed with dementia.

The Big Five Personality Traits were employed as a model by the team lead by Yoneda. 

Neuroticism, Extroversion, Openness, Agreeableness, and Conscientiousness are the five personality traits.
