5 Tips to Help with Acne
1. Monitor your diet. Many skin care experts will suggest that you take a good look at your diet. This is particularly important for teenagers who have trouble and need help with difficult acne.
Regardless of your age, if you are constantly eating a “fast food” type of diet you may see an increase in acne breakout. The majority of these foods are high in fat content and other ingredients, which can be a disaster to your skin. Furthermore, eating this type of food will make it harder for you to keep your skin clean because of the increased oil in your skin. As you already probably know, oily skin is a breeding ground for zits and unsightly blackheads.
2. Check with your local pharmacist for suggested cleansers. They will often recommend benzoic peroxide or similar external skin cleansers. You should follow the directions for application for the best results. These types of skin cleansers attack the bacteria which have accumulated underneath the oil on your skin.
One drawback to these types of surface cleaners is that they don’t treat the infected pores under the surface of the skin. In most cases the only way to treat inflamed acne is with an antibiotic. This is where your personal doctor or dermatologist may prescribe drugs such as tetracycline or similar drugs. These antibiotic drugs attack from underneath the surface of your skin through the bloodstream.
3. Use sunshine as a natural treatment. Sunshine has been known as a natural source to help with acne. It can help reduce the severity of acne, and in some case speed the clearing up process. But, also be aware that overexposure of sunlight can impact your skin negatively. Using good common sense will tell you when you’re getting too much sunlight and burning your skin.
4. For those with extremely sensitive skin, there’s a solution as well. Thanks to advances in technology, special lighting has been created which is a great tool for helping with your acne. Using the lighting is not an overnight cure. It takes about a month or so for it to be the most effective. It’s been reported to reduce inflamed acne tissue by about 70%.
5. Consider chemical peeling. This is one of the harshest forms of treatment for your skin. The chemicals, which are used, cause the top layer of your skin to peel off. Since these chemicals are an acid, due caution must be taken, especially around the eyes and mouth.
A less severe method of skin peeling can be done quite safely by you, using special abrasive pads, designed specifically for performing this task. You can also use special formulated body washes to help remove the top layer of skin.
Note: These tips to help with acne are not meant as medical advice nor should they be substituted for professional medical advice. It is always best for you to contact your medical doctor before undertaking any type of treatment which could have possible side effects to your health.

Create Your Own Homemade Spa Treatments
You don’t have to check into the closest health spa. In fact, you don’t have to go any further than your very own kitchen. You can save money right at home with your own homemade spa treatments.
Follow this easy step-by-step plan to create your own homemade spa:
- Make sure your face is as clean as you possibly can make it.
- If you have to use a defoliate soap or cream to remove all the dead skin particles, dirt and oil from your face.
- Add 2 measured tablespoons of milk, (not skim or 2%) and 1 complete egg.
- Mix them together until they are well blended and frothy.
- Next find a comfortable place to lie down and apply it softly to your face.
- Relax for about 5 minutes then return to the bathroom and wash your face with lukewarm water.
NOTE: You may feel your skin is to dry after this facial treatment. If you do, it’s okay to use an all natural skin moisturizer, but make sure it has no perfume in it.
If excessive blackheads and oily skin seem to be a problem, try this inexpensive home recipe:
Ingredients:
- Oat Meal – 2 tablespoons (not cooked)
- Lemon Juice – 1 tablespoon
- Pinch of chopped parsley
- Yogurt – 4 tablespoons
- Olive Oil – 1 teaspoon
Instructions: Mix ingredients together, making sure they are well blended. Then apply the mixture to your face and allow five minutes to work its magic. Rinse with lukewarm (not hot) water and you are going to think your face has been born a new.
$AVINGS: These treatments cost only a few pennies and roughly 5 to 10 minutes of your time. As an added benefit, you can avoid harsh chemicals in store bought products and benefit from natural ingredients which is great for skin.

10 Quick Hair Care Tips
1. If you notice split ends, have them trimmed. Trimming every six weeks can keep hair in nice shape.
2. Use a low to medium heat on your hair dryer and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun. High heat can cause hair to become dry, brittle and break.
3. Avoid scratching or rubbing the head as this will promote flaking. To treat dandruff, use a shampoo and/or conditioner that is especially designed to treat the scalp and eliminate flaking.
4. If you have thin hair, add a volumizing shampoo for added body.
5. If you have thick hair, use a healthy shine shampoo to bring out the additional beauty.
6. Avoid harsh hair care products with alcohol and other harsh chemicals, which can dry out or damage the hair.
7. Choose a hair salon that has been in business for awhile and has a clean, professional workspace.
8. Ask friends about their experience with haircare products. This can save you lots of money from testing out tons of different products.
9. When brushing your hair, use soft strokes rather than those swiped in a hurry. Treat your hair like a precious garment.
10. Before styling your hair, use a special spray that help protects the hair from heat damage. When using styling products, such as curling irons, make sure that they do not overheat prior to using them on your hair.
